Lincoln Parish School Board Tuesday Night

The regular meeting of the Lincoln Parish School Board will be Tuesday, March 2, 6:00 pm at the Central Office, 410 South Farmerville Street. Here is the agenda.

There is scheduled a strategy session regarding possible action relative to pending litigation. This litigation is the original desegregation suit filed in 1966, Copeland v Lincoln Parish School Board. Some history can be found here in Open Jurist.

Also will be financial reports from Business Manager George Murphy. The January 31 fund balances show a healthy increase over those from last month, due to end-of-year property tax collections coming in. Director of Instructions Mary Null will report on teacher/pupil ratios at the various schools.

Superintendent Danny Bell will recommend that the board adopt Ruston 21 Goals for the district to be top 12 by May, 2013, top 7 by May, 2015 and to be number one by May 2017. LPNO had reported on the Ruston 21 Goals project at the January meeting and the February meeting.
