The state, in it’s infinite greed, has long lusted to gain control of collection of local sales taxes. It is a rational position based on self-preservation and local control of local funding to oppose the state in this effort.

Well….they’re fighting against the local greed and total lack of morals. It’s not the state that sets Lincoln Parish or Ruston taxes which just happens to be one of the highest in the state. I avoid shopping in Ruston or Lincoln Parish like the plague. Would rather drive an hour west or 30 minutes east. Better product and better restaurants anyway.
