What’s not on the public agenda: How can we convince our new best friend to step outside his purview again, throw us another bone, and forget about the rest of the parish again?
I’ll be on my way to Arcadia to visit a friend during this meeting. On the way back, I’m stopping by the grocery store there to buy groceries for the week. Why? To avoid the 12.2% sales tax in Ruston. It’s only 9.95% there. I refuse to pay my part of the $100,000 they just committed to the marketing consultants.
Mayor should be reducing instead of increasing. Restaurants especially have been hard hit during covid. He may see many of them unable to stay open long term. People sure don’t need to pay even more on taxes if he expects us to eat locally. And marketing firm has been hired? Please….

I hope business owners are taking note.
