Ruston City Council Monday Night

Ruston’s Board of Aldermen will meet in regular session tomorrow (Monday, 8/6) at Ruston City Hall, 401 North Trenton. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM, rather than the customary 5:30 PM.

Here’s the agenda.

Two items are notable:

The city’s administration wants to donate 2.8 acres the Lincoln Economic Development Council, on which is proposed to be built an entertainment center. The land is adjacent to the recreation complex under construction on South Farmerville and South Vienna. The company cited to build the center is called The Alley of Ruston, LLC. The city and the council will negotiate a cooperative endeavor agreement to “do all things necessary and proper” to complete the project.

See here the proposed ordinance.

Another ordinance to be introduced concerns the borrowing of $6 million to finance work on the city’s water and sewer systems.

Several errors on the agenda this time. Can’t get good help anymore. And can’t believe City allowed Walter to publish an “annotated” version of ordinance being introduced.

Who is taking care of business?
