Lincoln Parish Police Jury Tuesday

The Lincoln Parish Police Jury (LPPJ) will meet Tuesday, April 11, Lincoln Parish Court House, third floor. Committee meetings begin at 5:30 PM

Finance Committee – 5:30 PM

Public Works Committee – 6:00 PM

Police Jury – 7:00 PM

Notable is the introduction of a change to the parish’s alcohol ordinance. Presently, consumption of alcohol on parish property or roads is prohibited. The change will allow consumption at Lincoln Hall.

A public hearing on the ordinance will be held at the May 9 jury meeting.

One Response to “Lincoln Parish Police Jury Tuesday”

  1. Carl Burton Says:

Police jurors are worried about the Parrish being liable for incidents arissing from alcohol being consumed at Lincoln Hall. According to Louisiana law, a venue cannot be held liable Hopefully this will not be an issue. As I understand it Mr Shuff is not turning LH into a bar or bottle club
The only reason alcohol is an issue is that it will determine whether or not Mr Shuff buys out my lease. Business will quadruple if the ordinance is passed and he knows this
The reason I must get out of business is because my wife has 3 life threatening illnesses and cannot continue to operate LH
Hopefully the public will see our side of the story
