The Tech Farm Salesroom, a long-time local fresh-food outlet, is now selling Halal Chicken, Lincoln Parish News Online has learned.
Halal foods, according to Wikipedia, “are permissible for Muslims to eat or drink under Islamic Shariʻah (law). The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue.”
Additionally, “The slaughtering process referred to as dhabīḥah is regulated by a set of rules intended to ensure the health of the animal to be slaughtered and conformance to Islamic religious law, which is derived from the Quran and hadiths.”
It is unclear how a taxpayer-funded organization (Louisiana Tech) can offer for sale religion-compliant products for one religion only.

I am all for keeping those out that hate us but those who eat Halal food are not necessarily Suni or Shia Muslims.
Take this thing a step further…know what one of the fastest growing ranching businesses is? Goats. Consumption by both Muslims and Jews and alot of Wasps. If Tech were to raise goats, think we should outlaw it or restrict it? Or just maybe, do you think that an ag research university could help everyday American farmers to make the highest profits by testing new methodologies for raising goats?

We can’t get GMO out of our food, but we can cater to Muslims. Btw the property owner of the mosque right down the road from the salesfloor is the North American Islamic Trust who has links to terrorist actions. Of course people are to coward these days to say get out of our community. Its location is perfect since it is close to a gun free zone.
