Sumlin Pleads Not Guilty

Former Louisiana State Representative William Sumlin this morning in Third Judicial (Lincoln, Union Parishes) pleaded not guilty to one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Sumlin was arrested on the charge last month. Enrolled as attorney for Sumlin was LaValle Salomon of Monroe.

Presiding today was Division C Judge Jay McCallum. Appearing for the State was Chief Felony Prosecutor Lewis Jones.

No trial date was set, but a 9:00 AM, 12/15/15 status conference hearing was scheduled.

Sumlin was representative from 1983 to 1988.
