Why would the New Black Panther Party member Mauricelm Lei Millere fly in from Washington DC for this trail?

Why would he be given a subpoena?

Why would they not let Millere in the courtroom?

Millere says he has no ties to this case… he was not part of the administration of the city or anything…so let’s go back to first question, why is he in Jonesboro???

    • Anonymous Says:

I found it odd Mirrere said on tv last evening he was being singled out… since he had been sequestered as a witness he was barred from entering the courtroom while all other witness were sworn in and mandated to be in the courtroom.. If the witnesses are sequestered, and it was reported earlier that they are, then they are ALL barred from the courtroom until after they have testified and been released from being recalled as a witness. I do not care the color of a persons skin but I do not appreciate troublemakers coming to our community only to create problems and make trouble and that seems to be his agenda. He made a remark on tv last weekend that he does not teach change thru non-violence so that leaves the other option as his agenda.

  2. Donald Marion Fowler Says:

To stir up trouble. My question has been why did the defense ask for more police protection around the court house? Aren’t the blacks the only ones marching? Or do they expect to provoke some sort of fracas with the whites during the trial? If Les Lie the CTIC is convicted PLEASE LET THERE BE PHOTOGRAPHS OF HIM BEING HANDCUFFED AND LED AWAY. PLEASE!!!!!

    • Speak Truth Says:

Actually there are blacks and WHITES marching, not all of the Mayor’s supporters are black. Why would you assume that Lei Millere came to “stir up trouble”? It is my opinion that he came to show support for a Mayor of a small Southern Town that he feels is being treated unjustly. Do you want to make this a black and white issue?

      • Anonymous Says:

Oh please! This is only a race issue at the hands of ppl like you and the mayor. He’s just tryi g to divert the attention. He broke the law and that has nothing to do with skin color, gender, religious preference or anything but pure will and selfishness.

        • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

Yeah, he is just trying to divert attention by saying people are after him because he is black. He is making it a race issue. You are right, breaking the law has nothing to do with skin color or gender or religion but the fact is that he is black and has proven himself to be incompetent, a thief, and a liar.

        • Speak Truth Says:

People like me? How am I making it a race issue? Unlike you, I have not heard All the evidence, therefore, I will follow the law and consider the Mayor, innocent until proven guilty.

          • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

speak truth: believe what you may. Are you still of the opinion that the earth is flat and diaper heads pose no problem to the US and Wayne Lapierre is a saint?.

            • Speak Truth Says:

@ DMF, Thanks for your permission to believe what I may. I am not foolish enough to believe everything I hear (gossip) and am able to hold judgment until all the facts are in, that alone proves that I am not as simple minded as you. However, I am of the opinion that your agenda with attempting to discredit me for my refusal to form an opinion concerning the Mayor’s guilt or INNOCENCE until all the facts have been laid out shows that you are a person of low character.

      • Anonymous Says:

Not really sure what March you attended but I witness both the Marches on Monday and Wednesday and there were no whites in the group. Mondays March had a few White reporters/tv crew getting coverage but they were on the sides of the road…Monday’s massive turnout totaled 46 and that included infants, toddlers and young children (every head counted) did not bother to count accurately but looked to be about 15 on Wednesday. But as someone else remarked he does have supporters from other races including whites…what is the big deal about that. that should prove it is not a race issue it is a criminal issue

        • Speak Truth Says:

I never said I attended the march, I said both blacks and whites marched and that not all of the Mayor’s supporters are black. Stop jumping to conclusions, you should listen to and READ the facts that one is stating.

      • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

Speaktruth but hide real name – read the post by Anonymous 10:15 above about then “loveable” Lie Millere. The Black Panther Leader says that “he does not teach change through non-violence.” Let me explain that to you, dunderhead. The opposite of non-violence is violence. He made a veiled threat that if things don’t go the way he wants them to go (not guilty verdict) then the town of Jonesboro can expect violent acts by his followers. Can you understand that SFB? Keep an eye out for an influx of stupidly dressed blacks arriving from far away places. Only an idiot (Les Lie the CTIC) would call as a witness someone from Washington, DC to say that he knows nothing about what’s going on in Jonesboro. What other reason could his presence be for? Duh!!!!!

        • Speak Truth Says:

How ironic? You chastise me for using a sign in name other than my birth name but you quote Anonymous. Did you hear the Black Panther Leader speak those words? Is it possible that he came to show support? Duh, by his own admission, he has no ties to Jonesboro! FYI, he is on the prosecution witness list, not the defenses, hence his claim that the prosecution is keeping him out of the court room. DUH!

      • sunrisesunset Says:

Being treated “unjustly”? The only people being treated “unjustly” are the citizens of Jonesboro at the hands of a corrupt and naive mayor.

Get your head out of the sand. It has stopped all logical thinking processes in your widdie biddie head.

        • sunrisesunset Says:

My reply was for “Speak Truth” at 8:09 p.m., Aug. 30.

        • Speak Truth Says:

I agree the citizens of Jonesboro are treated unjustly, although, I am not sure its at the hands of the Mayor.

My head is not nor has ever been in the sand! I suggest you listen and look at the evidence with an open heart and color blind eye.

          • sunrisesunset Says:

Well, I have listened and heard the EVIDENCE straight from Baton Rouge. Records in disarray, money unaccounted for, books that cannot be audited for the whole blessed time the esteemed one has been in office, plus MANY other items of interest that show where corruption abides.

Never in the annals of the history of mayorship of Jonesboro has it nor its citizens encountered this much corruption and publicity. Ol’ Les holds the reigns as mayor of Jonesboro. It’s under his leadership that Jonesboro finds itself REPEATEDLY in the NEWS.

            • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

Well said, sunrisesunset. Well said. I doubt that the truth you uttered will affect the lack of judgment of speak the truth. He is revolving in a world of his own.

              • sunrisesunset Says:

Thanks, Don! I am sure that “Speak The Truth” will never be able to understand the ongoings in Jonesboro. Any simpleton could understand what is happening in J’boro.

Or, maybe he chooses to ignore the truth altogether.

  3. Donald Marion Fowler Says:

Just saw a picture of this clown Lei Millere. That boy is still wet behind the ears and the sole purpose he has in life is to stir up trouble. The New Black Panthers????? More like some dumb ass pussy cat. mmmmmeeeeeoooooowwwww!!!!!

  4. Speak Truth Says:

    @Donald Marion Fowler

    • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

It already is a black and white issue. And anyone thinking that Les Lie is being mistreated needs to seek help for their mental issues.

      • Speak Truth Says:

Why is it a black and white issue? I have read some of your comments and it appears that you are very biased and tend to race bait. Why all the name calling?

        • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

hey speak truth: listen to what Les Lie says – people are after him because he is black. He won’t admit that people are after him because he is incompetent or because he is a thief or because he is a liar. It is always BECAUSE HE IS BLACK. If you can’t see and understand this then I suggest you get an intelligent person to read things and tell you what they mean. As for Les Lie having both white and black supporters, I can accept that. There are idiots on both sides of the fence. Oh, by the way – in the picture in front of the City Hall, I counted one white (a woman leaning up against a car) and in the march to the courthouse, I saw no white what-so-ever. Do me a favor and reveal your name instead of hiding behind an alias.

    • sunrisesunset Says:

Guess since there are black and whites supporting the mayor RACISM cannot be screamed…..can it?

  5. Anonymous Says:

The mayor made it a black and white issue himself when he told TV news photographers that he was concerned that a jury of all white members may not represent “a jury of his peers.” He better not say that in court, unless he wants a contempt of court charge on top of all the others.

    • Speak Truth Says:

The Mayor actually said “some people are concerned with the jury being all white”, he did not say he was concerned. Maybe that is part of the problem, you hear what you want to hear.

      • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

FU! Until you put your NAME on your blogs, you are nothing but a DDA SFB.

        • Speak Truth Says:

          You are ridiculous!!

          • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

speak truth: I am very well-educated, relatively well off, live in a part of San Antonio where the price of a home starts at $300,000, live three blocks from Tommy Lee Jones, and am very capable of reasoning out solutions to problems, such as the one facing Jonesboro. I stand ready to accept the courts decision on Les Lie the CTIC but he is guilty of all that he has been charged with. Answer me a few questions: (1) how many times have mayors in the past been unable to get a correct audit of the town’s books? (2) why didn’t he cooperate with the fiscal administrator? (3) where in the world did a $300,000 certificate disappear to? (4) how many mayors in the past have uttered these words – “I follow only those laws that are right?” (seems like he is a repugnicant paraphrasing his hero Nixon who once said “if the president does it it ain’t illegal”). I have a lot more questions but I don’t want to overtax your miniscule brain. To paraphrase a quote from a tom cruise movie “show me your name!!!

            • Speak Truth Says:

My name is as relevant as the cost of your home! I am well-educated, live in the wealthiest zip code in my State (we also have a summer home valued in the range of $900,000.00), have several family members that are famous, friends that are A-list celebrities, and I facilitate seminars for large corporations on problem solving and rationalizing.

To answer your questions: 1) I am not sure of the number of times that Mayor’s in the past have been unable to get a correct audit of the town’s books, However, I am positive that the prior administration of Jonesboro had been unsuccessful in reconciling the books on a few occasions and that many Mayor’s in many municipalities have faced this same challenge, as well as a few Governors. 2) I have been informed that direct testimony from the fiscal administrator refutes the claim of his unwillingness to cooperate (I will wait to see how that plays out) 3) There is no $300,000.00 certificate that disappeared, he is not charged with that allegation. 4) I am not aware of how many Mayor’s uttered those words, nor am I convinced that this Mayor did. Your questions could never overtax my brain, (there you go again with the childish name calling) but I am getting bored with your biased, unfounded, non-factual commentary.

Why is my name important to you? Does it make my opinions more valid?

              • Daffy Duck Says:

Your name is only important because cowards hide behind phony names and aliases. Show some balls, boy, and let us know the name of a Les Lie the CTIC supporter.

              • sunrisesunset Says:

Speak the Truth, we DO NOT believe a word about all the WEALTH you purport to brag about. So stop being dishonest.

Willie Joseph and Devin Flowers interview! They name names and slander. Gonna be some more lawsuits filed!!!

    • Anonymous Says:

Joseph provides absolutely no evidence to back up anything he is reporting on in this interview; he slams school administration, alderman, businessmen, politicians, citizens, law enforcement: he knows details of conversations in rooms he was not present in….more crap as usual…and yet he claims it is others who are full of hatred not him or his friends or family…ALWAYS OTHERS. He and Thompson need to quit their jobs and open a legal office since he purport he studied for the Law and the other says he is almost a lawyer since he is a paralegal.

  7. sunrisesunset Says:

Maybe blacks did not want to be on the jury for fear ol’ Les may be found guilty. Then what……for them? Think about it!

    • Speak Truth Says:

Or maybe they didn’t want to be on the jury for the reasons they stated….Think about it!! I appreciate the fact that they were honest and didn’t lie, like others that really wanted to be on the jury.

  9. grasping at straws Says:

Saw the Mayor’s brother, David and MIllere putting these flyers on cars today at Brookshires. This is what they flyers said:

To the Citizens of Jonesboro, La
Please join us in a prayer vigil and march at Jonesboro City Hall Tuesday
morning, September 3, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. If possible, please join us
and bring signs that read the following:
    GOD IS LOVE
    or
    LOVE IS THE ANSWER
The town of Jonesboro is in need of prayers and a visible
demostration of love. The fight in court is not between the black
and white masses, because Mayor Thompson was elected twice with a
significant percentage of the black and white vote. This fight has been
launched since the Mayor walked in office seven years ago by
    a handful of disgruntled citizens.
Let’s show the world that we are a town united.

    • Anonymous Says:

Yep I saw Millere and some other dude running around the Wal Mart parking lot abt 1 p.m. today; figured it was him who put that trash on my car…always stirring up trouble. Jonesboro citizens have been praying…for a LONG TIME…that is why we are now seeing some of our prayers being answered this past week. I guess TV coverage for days has not produced the effects he wanted to see…the numbers of marchers dwindled sharply on Wednesday so he is regrouping. I likely will be in town again on Tuesday at 9 BIT it won’t be to participate. If Abbott can not be active during this sequester phase of the trial e.g. (posting info here that OTHERS give to him) why is Millere allowed to continue to actively participate in support of his side in this action? Sure hope the many prayers of the area citizens are fully answered REALLY SOON!

  10. Anonymous Says:

Best news summary of the trial that we have found is on myarklamiss.com with a complete resume of what went on Friday and Saturday. Sounds like some pretty damaging evidence.

  11. Anonymous Says:

No matter whether Thompson said what Anonymous heard or what “Speak Truth” heard, it is beside the point, The main thing is that he has introduced race into the Jonesboro picture from the word go, and to pretend that someone else is doing It is just avoiding the “truth.”

  12. hmmmmm Says:

I find it ironic he is running around handing out “love” flyers yet his comments are not of love. He is all about violence. Check out his facebook page. I suppose this new tactic might give him more attendance and then he can say “see all these supporters of the Mayor”. I hope no one falls for it. I think he should go home. If the black people who live here aren’t marching who is he to come to our town and start messes? I think it is very sad the Mayor would want this in our town. Very sad indeed.

  13. Donald Marion Fowler Says:

Ole Les Lie the CTIC supporter Lei Millere has dual citizenship (ain’t nothing wrong with that speak the truth) with Nigeria (whom I believe has more problems than Jonesboro [starvation for example] and me thinks his efforts would be better directed to that country instead of interfering with our problems.) I certainly want justice to prevail in the Les Lie case (a guilty verdict and five years in Angola) and I am wondering what will Lei Millere do in such an instance. I smell smoke as long as that idiot is in town. Look at all of the police from surrounding parishes that have officers stationed around our courthouse when they could be in their own parishes doing what they were appointed to do. Also the state police are involved. This trial ain’t that big or important outside of Jonesboro and I wonder who is the reason for this “increase in security.” Could it be Lei Millere who says (and speak the truth, I heard this in his tv interview) that he doesn’t solve problems with non-violence. You are so freaking smart, so what did he mean by that? Let the trial continue to its logical conclusion – guilty on all counts.

  14. Anonymous Says:

Well another day another March…less than 12 today including mayor and it took 3 police units to escort them the 5-6 blocks to the courthouse.

    • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

Me thinks that perhaps Les Lie the Incompetent is developing a MLK complex with all of these marches. His “legion” of supporters show the truth of the situation – ain’t no one in Jonesboro (except those on his gravy train and the idiot from Washington, D. C.) interested in his situation. Hey, Les Lie. Do us all a favor and stop the trial by standing up like a man and saying that you wish to plead guilty because you really did do all of those things with which you are charged. You are costing the town money that it doesn’t have just so that you can have a platform from which to shout “racism.” I thought that you had the town’s best interest at heart. You are guilty so admit it, twerp.

    • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

With by 12 followers marching to the courthouse, the police should have ordered the marchers to the sidewalk for their own safety. Still didn’t see any whites in the “massive” crowd.

  15. hmmmmm Says:

Why 3 police units? No one is interested in their march….why the escort? I am so glad no one fell for the stupid love crap.

  16. sunrisesunset Says:

Disgrace, shame, and embarrassment caused by one very naive guy to our town. I will not say “man” because a true “man” will own up to his mistakes!!!!!

  17. Anonymous Says:

5 pm TV 8 news reported defense requested mistrial this evening based on race issues and fact a former potential juror in this case was present in the courtroom and her presence in the court would influence the standing jury. I do not understand why someone who was included in a jury pool, that was dismissed, should be barred from ongoing trial? Does this make any sense or I am being dense?

    • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

If you ain’t on the jury, you can hang from the rafters of the courtroom if you so choose. This juror was dismissed and not admonished to not discuss the trial so this juror can say what he/she pleases. The actual jurors and standby juror can not, nor should they, listen to what this person says. They are not stashed away in some room where they can not contact the outside world and they can watch the same television the rest of us do, so they can be influenced by any and everything. As for the racism charge, where is that contempt citation that Judge Teat spoke of before the trial or was that just made up bull crap by someone other than the judge? I am hoping for a guilty verdict and I DAMN WELL WANT TO SEE THE LES LIE IN HANDCUFFS DOING THE PERP WALK.

  18. Donald Marion Fowler Says:

I noticed that “speak the truth” has been absent from these pages for almost a day. I guess he has gone off to his $900,000 summer home. Me? I can’t do that. My bank account has $14.27 in it and my wife is out shopping so that may go down. Speak the truth, where is you? Where is you? (Dialect on purpose because I think Speak the Truth may be a Leon Drive supporter of Les Lie).

  19. Anonymous Says:

KTVE Channel 10 had Jonesboro as their lead story on the 6 p.m. news. Will probably repeat it at 10 p.m. By the way, I think Speak the Truth is a “she.”

  20. Anonymous Says:

KNOE-TV also reported that Judge Teat denied the request for a mistrial, so what Fowler said is probably correct. You notice the defense is not denying any of these charges, just trying to find some little loophole to delay or have a re-trial. Obvious what their “strategy” is, the same as the other trials, none of which they won.

  21. Donald Marion Fowler Says:

The Les Lie CTIC of Jonesboro demands that Renee pay $1 a page for information that he, Les Lie the Incompetent should give each alderman/woman (and Lumpkins) well prior to any meeting so that they can be both (1) knowledgeable of what will be discussed and (2) prepared for the meeting. I have two questions, and because they are about black I guess that I am being racist: (1) Is Dill still on the payroll and (2) did the Mayor (it hurts to say that word in front of Les Lie’s name) pay $1 a page for his “manifesto” that he published earlier this year that was supposed to show how he is being mistreated because of his color? If so, he needs to produce a receipt and show where the money was “properly” entered into the town’s books. To paraphrase another idiot (Sarah who wears glasses but can see Russia from her front porch Palin): “Betcha ya can’t! Just a comment – I haven’t heard about the CTIC running for Alexander’s seat in Congress nor has there been any discussion about running for governor. From what I hear, good ol Les Lie is interested only in running for cover. He has reached his level of incompetence and needs to be flushed from the public scene.

  22. Anonymous Says:

Is lumpkin living at the court house this week?

  23. Donald Marion Fowler Says:

There certainly were a lot of objections during the trial today and I got the feeling that the defense could have made one objection that would have covered it all: “Your Honor, I object to the testimony of this witness because it shows the guilt of my client and that ain’t fair.” And as for as the bid for a mistrial goes, I think the defense is using every trick they found when they read “Motions for Mistrials for Dummies” and I believe that the CTIC got all of his governmental learning from the book “Help for Mayors for Dummies.” I STILL WANT TO SEE HIM IN HANDCUFFS AND DOING THE PERP WALK. Don’t let me down, jurors. Don’t let me down. Oh, speak the truth, where are you? Kitty, kitty, kitty. Where are you?

  24. Anonymous Says:

so I am GUESSING Carol Lexing-Powell was stating that if a person was hired 3 years ago as fulltime (usually 35 wkly hours or more for most jobs) and a year ago that person started working LESS than that determine hourly fulltime status then because Once Upon a Time they had worked full time they are FOREVER listed as fulltime…I don’t think it works that way. Private sector is infamous for dropping people’s hours below the FT hourly mark to keep from paying benefits and most government jobs require a set # of hours worked to be eligible for insurance and other benefits.

    • Anonymous Says:

Awww…now, maybe they all were just taking a day or two a week to use PTO. Or maybe they had a stomach virus one day a week for weeks on end. They would still be full-time huh?

    • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

By her warped reasoning, all of the dead people on the voter rolls ought to be able to vote. Me thinks, and right off of the bat I will admit to knowing nothing about hiring practices in Jonesboro, that somewhere in all of that mess at City Hall is a piece of paper that shows for what position they were hired and whether or not it was part or full time and several important signatures will be on that piece of paper. Like I stated, I know nothing about hiring practices but I do understand how “you scratch my back and I will scratch yours” works.

  25. Anonymous Says:

All the objections and requests for a mistrial just show that Thompson’s lawyers think they are going to lose this one. If they thought he was going to be found not guilty, they sure would not be wanting a mistrial. And what good would another trial do anyway, except to make more money for them? The same testimony would be given, and the same defense, which is practically nothing.

  26. Anonymous Says:

Had been wondering why the defense put Renee Stringer and Walter Abbott on their list of witnesses. They subpoenaed them with no intention of asking them to testify. That way, they could keep them from giving testimony that would be damaging to Thompson’s case for the prosecution.

    • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

You are correct about them not being called by the defense even though they are “defense” witnesses. If Les Lie’s attorneys call either or both of them, then the prosecution can cross exam them until the cows come home. I don’t know the first thing about law (except I follow them because I don’t want to go to jail and become Bubba’s girlfriend) but couldn’t they have been called by the prosecution as a witness for them also. I have never heard of this is my witness and those are yours. It is not like choosing up for a ball game where “I’ll take her” and “you can have him.” But like I stated, I know absolutely nothing about the law.

    • TXL Says:

They were called as defense witnesses so they could be sequestered. They have been the two most vocal about opposing the mayor. It was just a trick to keep them quiet during the trial. I bet they are never called to testify.

  27. Anonymous Says:

Yeah, they are trying everything in the book (and some that aren’t) in an attempt to maybe find some little thing that will cause a mistrial. They see there is no hope of getting a “not guilty” verdict, but if they can force another trial, there will be a lot more money for them.

  28. Anonymous Says:

Ever wonder why the defense is ok with an all white jury?
Possibly to set up for an appeal on the grounds that their client did not recieve a jury of his peers?
That this jury, being all white, “had it’s mind made up before the opening arguments were concluded.

    • TXL Says:

I really hope that it doesn’t work because the defense lawyers were involved in the selection too. I agree with you about their intent though.

    • sunrisesunset Says:

No blacks WANTED to serve because of a backlash on them should the esteemed one that sits high on his throne was found guilty. Plain and simple.

Of this, I am quite sure!

  29. Anonymous Says:

I heard it through the grapevine that the white jury was the only ones that would do it.

  30. Anonymous Says:

My ArkLaMiss.com is reporting that one witness testified that the Defense attorney called her at home and told her how to answer her questions in court…this was under oath today…seems this trial is about the heat up. I may have the wrong person in mind but was Ms. Powell Lexing not admonished a few months ago for unethical practices?

    • Donald Marion Fowler Says:

Nope, you have the correct slimy lawyer. If taking PED’s would help defense lawyers, they would.

    • Around Saline Lake Says:

attorney and unethical are synonyms, aren’t they?

    • sunrisesunset Says:

You are correct Anonymous. Powell-Lexing was certainly admonished for unethical behavior. Hooray!!!!!!!! Now, she is at it again. Hooray!!!!!

  31. Anonymous Says:

One reason given for the defense agreeing to all white jurors is because they had no choice. One of the questions was whether they personally knew the mayor, which would automatically disqualify them, and none of the black juror prospects could answer in the negative without perjuring themselves. None of the white juror prospects from Jonesboro could answer that they were not familiar with the situation that the trial is about, and of course that is one reason there were none selected from Jonesboro, black or white. It really came down to only a few prospective jurors that did not either know Thompson personally, or were not familiar with the details of the charges. Surprised they were even able to find seven in Jackson Parish (with the one alternate).

  32. Disgruntled in Jonesboro Says:

We all need to pray for Melba Holland and Miss Houston and if you see them, thank them for standing up to the mayor and his thugs. He had all of his “soldiers” there today to intimidate these witnesses but it backfired. God knows all and sees all, not ALLAH!!!! Lies are being uncovered and God is answering prayers. Let’s support these Godly women and lift them up in prayer daily and our town. Oh, and let me tell you one more thing! This handful of disgruntled citizens has the Lord as our leader. Who is your leader?

One of the earlier posts quoted the Millere handbills as stating that there were only a “handful” of “disgruntled” Jonesboro citizens who are disgusted with the non-leadership of Thompson. If he really believes that, it just shows how little he really knows about the Jonesboro situation. He will soon find out, and quite a few blacks that had been supporting Thompson will probably jump off the bandwagon when they see in court all the things he did, and he gets convicted.

Thought Powell-Lexing was on a six-month suspension from practicing anyway. Doesn’t seem like it has been that long ago.
Maybe it was just a probationary period, but if this turns out to be true, that will probably be it for her.

    • Anonymous Says:

Really? Get your information straight please. The six month suspension is deferred as long as she does not get in trouble again for two years.

She just comingled her money with her clients money….no big deal.

      Drop it

      • Disgruntled in Jonesboro Says:

Well, it appears she is in trouble AGAIN because Ms, Holland dropped it like it’s HOTTTTT!!

Anonymous: Looks as though Lexing-Powell is in trouble again. And, comingling her money with a clients most certainly got her into TROUBLE, didn’t it. Doesn’t pay to be dishonest, in my book. I hope this latest fiasco gets her into a heap of trouble. I think she has just intimidated a witness. That’s BIG in my mind.

Pretty sure it is true; Melba testified under oath, and don’t think she would risk perjury just to put the final nail in Thompson’s coffin. What would she have to gain by lying about it, anyway?

  36. Anonymous Says:

Have heard some of the blacks, who probably would not want to be quoted, say it looks bad for them now.

  37. Anonymous Says:

Please thank Melba Holland and Ms. Houston when you see them for being couragous enough to tell the truth.

Still waiting to see if there will be prejury charges against the other two Thompson fans.

It was too hard for Melba to not speak the truth….And seems TOO EASY for the other two to LIE…..

According to the KNOE news release, and Holland’s testimony, Powell-Lexing broke the law. She said “Apparently the witness does not know it is common practice for attorneys to discuss the case with prospective witnesses.” However, it is illegal for an attorney to tell the witness what to say, which is what Holland testified under oath that she did. That is probably the reason that Powell-Lexing did not want to take the stand to answer questions under oath. .

Pastor Manning explains the situation very well! Copy & paste this in your browser. This black man explains why black people cannot run anything.

I am not watching your video. This isn’t about black people running things. It is about a Mayor who happens to be black that has allegedly committed malfeasance. It isn’t because of his race.

      • Oldman Says:

Very good comment,I believe the same thing. Crooks should be put where they belong,in jail, white or black.

Ah, it’s Monday and the Shootout at the Dugdemona reopens early this AM (I hope). Thought about Lexing-Powell all weekend and I kept asking myself, “Self, couldn’t Judge Teat have done something about her telling her witness what to say if it’s illegal?” Kept asking myself, “Self, shouldn’t she be behind bars for her act and her violation of her probationary period?” Self couldn’t answer any of those questions because I really don’t know crapola about the law. My last question to myself concerned the CTIC good ole Les Lie and it went like this – “Self, just what kind of vengeance will he take against the town and those who testified against him if he gets off scott free?” Could see only bad in that answer. Like they say in Baton Rouge (Geaux Tigers) I say “Geaux Jurors” and do the right thing.

The jurors gotta do the right thing or their friends and family will feel the same way the mayors family will feel if they do the wrong thing.Geaux Juror tee shirts on sale soon!

Does anyone know if it resumed today? I couldn’t find anything online on the news.
