Jackson Parish Police Jury Denies DA Stewart’s Supplemental Funding Request

With no discussion, the Jackson Parish Police Jury (JPPJ) tonight denied on a 5-0 vote, a $50 thousand supplemental funding request by Second Judicial (Bienville, Claiborne, Jackson Parishes) District Attorney Jonathan Stewart for the current fiscal year.

Voting for the motion to deny the request were: Todd Culpepper (Ward One), Billy Bryant (Ward Four), Maxie Monroe (Ward Five), Chuck Garrett (Ward Six), and Lynn Treadway (Ward Seven).

Jurors Eddie Langston (Ward Two) and Josh Peterson (Ward Three) were absent.

Last week the Claiborne Parish Police Jury (CPPJ) referred a similar request to their finance committee for study.
