Guice Promises “Balance” Between Teaching and Research

In an interview this morning before the University of Louisiana System (ULS) Search Committee, Les Guice said he was committed to to a “balance” between research and teaching for the future of Louisiana Tech University (LTU).

Guice, VP for Research and Development at Tech, is one of two finalists for president of the school.

The committee met on the Tech campus in Ruston this morning, and will hear from the other finalist this afternoon.

Guice acknowledged Tech’s long history of graduating students who became leaders in their fields, and promised that the school would be “better than ever before” in placing students in careers.

He also acknowledged that he would be more publicly visible in the future should he be selected. Toward that end, he proposed that an advisory council be formed that would help keep the university engaged with the public.
