Jonesboro Responds to Roberts Lawsuit

The Town of Jonesboro today filed an answer – through town attorney Douglas Stokes – to a lawsuit filed two weeks ago by former (or not) Fire Chief David Roberts.

The response poses several “interrogatories” (request for further information) to the plaintiff and requests a response within ten days.

It appears the town will allege that since Roberts accepted a settlement of about $24 thousand for accrued K-time and vacation time, then that would have been an admission that he was no longer employed by the town.

See here the document.

I think I may be just a bit disappointed with Stokes. Thought he was better than that. I certainly do not like what I have read through the blogs on many stories Walter has presented.

Doug Stokes is a “yes” man. He only does what you want to hear and then try to figure out if it is legal or not…He does not mind charging $150.00 an hour for his so called “expert” advice. He is in it for the money, just like the rest of the politicians and elected officials in the parish!!!

This is Fannie’s last term….so Leslie will need someone to help him and Doug Stokes does a great job with that. Maybe Leslie will not charge Doug as much “consulting fee” as James Roy Fannin paid.

Leslie will be the mayor of Jberry for many more years. He is going to add more of his followers as voters to the town which will guarantee his re election.

Wise up folks….stop fighting to be king of the hill and get someone in this office.

DA is not going to prosecute Leslie….Andy Brown has done his job…CFO and Legislative Auditors are can not prosecute…. State Police, most likely, has been told by Baton Rouge to leave Jberry alone….IRS is too busy….Fed Investigators have it on their list but it may be a few years…

Apparently the Attorney Generals office will do nothing either….so,
we can just sit back and complain OR find a qualified person who is willing to take over the big a$$ mess Leslie and crew has created.

Head on down to the meeting Tuesday night and you will see his next move….he has repeated mentioned getting Jberry to a city and has a move to add the numbers necessary.

Hell, let’s annex all the way to Hodge, Weston, McDonald Baptist Church and Wyatt…we can have big a$$ city for Leslie to preside over as King as he finishes spending all the money set up for reserves!

    WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!

I think David will continue to fight this bc he is NO fool and I’m sure his wife will not let the ball stop because she is a strong fighter for what’s right for her family , she will make sure it doesn’t end , and they both have good strong family to back them so look out Jonesboro because you have them stirred up and it’s not a good thing either to stir this family up because carla’s family is tough !!!!

David, you have many supporters who hope you will prevail in your fight. Best to you and your family.

Hey….how did the bidding for the land for Mr/Dr Simmons come out? Was that just shoved under the rug.

If the other bidder’s bid was sealed, it needs to be returned UNOPENED.
