Are Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown Expendable?

Save one press statement almost a week ago, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has remained mute about one of his employees and her date who were viciously attacked by protesters over a week ago in New Orleans’ French Quarter. They were attacked and beaten on the sidewalk literally outside the Louisiana Supreme Court Building, after attending a GOP fundraiser at Brennan’s Restaurant earlier in the evening of Friday, April 9.

According to sources, Jindal is reluctant to comment because he’s afraid that New Orleans’ reputation as a lawless cesspool would be further damaged. We had last week called upon Gov. Jindal to enlist the help of the U. S. Justice Department and the Louisiana State Police in investigating the crime, due to the ongoing problems within the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).

The question is, then, are Bautsch and Brown expendable in order to further the Greater Good of New Orleans tourism dollars? Do we conservatives have to offer up some sort of half-assed sacrifice from time to time in order to appease the gods of political correctness?

So far, the only official that has had the stones to describe what happened that night is Louisiana GOP Chair Roger Villere, Jr. He granted an interview to Lincoln Parish News Online two days ago and told us his recollection of events.

And forget about the Dinosaur Media actually getting up off their lazy behinds and doing real reporting – like actually interviewing people who were there.

We had contrasted this event with what the media’s likely response had it been staffers of Senator Mary Landrieu who were beaten. And also contrast this with how they reported the fictitious claims of racial slurs and spitting during Tea Party events.

So now are conservative activists legitimate targets to be attacked at will? We need to know the rules going in, we suggest.

    abb,

In my opinion, your interview with Mr. Villere is irrelevant…he did not witness the assault on Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown. The only thing Mr. Villere witnessed were protesters…protesting. I wouldn’t consider that newsworthy and it does nothing to bolster your assertion that the “assault was of political nature.”

Instead of recklessly jumping to the conclusion that the “assault was of political nature” how about reserving your judgment until more facts are known? As of now, you have absolutely no way of knowing if this “assault was of political nature”…you’re just assuming that was the case. Mr. Brown told police that he did not hear any politically-motivated taunts before or after he was assaulted. So, what are you basing your assumption on?

I hope that whoever assaulted Mr. Brown and Ms. Bautsch are caught and punished for their crimes, however it stretches credulity to suggest that some liberal protesters, hurling homophobic and misogynistic epithets, assaulted them just because they wore Sarah Palin pins were conservative activists.

Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown (her SO), the victims of this beating by barbaric Lefties, have issued statements elaborating on the minimal statement given by Joe Brown alone to the police. They state that they were followed by protesters from the time that they left Brennan’s; and were harangued with sexist, classist, and political insults from the start. In a few blocks they were savagely attacked by those same protesters that followed them from the restaurant.

Anyone that denies, impugns or avoids the victims statement is victimizing this nice young couple again; and is little better than those Leftist thugs that did so on that dark New Orleans street.

Seems Jindal shys away from direct confrontations. Haley Barbour would have raised hell and promised to catch and prosecute the cowardly scum who beat those kids.

What Mr. Villere witnessed was a group of aggresive protestors attempting to engage him, enough that he felt compelled to dodge them. Was that out of concern because of their aggressiveness? Was this not political in nature?

I think the two events are tied together enough to warrant reporting the villere event so the authorities can continue to investigate.

Here’s a youtube video of protestors outside the SRLC event. You’ll notice a few obscenely worded protest signs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwWudmGaYmA&feature=player_embedded#!
