According to a letter from Town of Jonesboro attorney Doug Stokes addressed to the town’s controversial mayor Leslie Thompson, the individual who is responsible for insuring that meeting minutes of the town’s Board of Aldermen has exposure to criminal liability if the minutes are not delivered to the official journal within twenty days from the date of the meeting.
Stokes also noted that the twenty day deadline is from the date of the meeting, and not when the minutes are approved.
A copy of the letter was obtained by Lincoln Parish News Online (LPNO).
At the Tuesday night meeting of the board, it was revealed that the minutes from the June 12, 2012 meeting had not yet been published.

isn’t criminal liability the same as malfeasance in office? And, since Stokes is an assistant DA then doesn’t this serve as evidence to the DA that a crime has been committed? Hmmmm….looks like proof of crime right here in the open Mr DA. So now what will be your excuse not to prosecute?

so file a complaint against Stokes, there is a bar association that takes complaints on attorneys, if you can write this mess on here, go the the website, download the document and file away, fortunately they are not regulated by Caldewll or Stewart, so you might actually see some penalty from them.

Come on people, (if) that were true, it would be another “let me show you how to do this now” so we can appease the politicians and get your grant money flowing……Caldwell or Stewart is not going to do a thing, so big fat hairy deal if they met all day and into the night, who cares, nothing is going to be done….just more of your taxes being wasted…….that should be more important than the fact that they met……not only are they wasting local taxes they are ripping the entire state off every time they come here…..look at the big picture.

Did you ever stop to think the ones that have no indication of trying to do what the laws stipulate need to attend a meeting like that? One does her job to the best of her ability and follows the law if at all possible, the rest follow the king and one day they are going to follow him right to the graybar hotel……..it’s just like the Hotel California…….may they never leave.

Personal judgements are not like a judgement against a municipality, just so you know, you can collect on a personal judgement, garnish those monthly checks and take your house, your car, your savings………anything of value you have to liquidate to pay your indebtedness………..so get ready……..it’s coming. They are about to encounter a court system that is not ruled by their ally and professional crime cover up artist, guess they didn’t know that all people have access to KGRM and Toni Brown…..my what good evidence.

I was confused about the name, also. The blog writer that first mentioned “Toni Brown” should have correctly spelled the name as “Tony Brown”.
Walter came to the rescue. Tony Brown is a black radio personality in Alexandria, I believe. So, this is not our Toni Brown who is Zero Brown’s wife.

There is a Ms. Brown in Jonesboro, but I have not heard of her being affiliated with any radio station anywhere.

Looks as though someone in a previous blog referred to the real “Tony Brown” by incorrectly spelling his name. They used the spelling for “Tony” as Toni”.
