The Town of Jonesboro’s controversial mayor Leslie Thompson said Tuesday night that the town would not pay a near $40 thousand invoice from the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) for patrolling the town during the month of July. Thompson said no formal agreement had ever been finalized, and until then, he would not agree to pay.
Said Thompson, “I talked to the fiscal administrator, and I said to him ‘You wouldn’t pay anybody that you hadn’t contracted?’ So we don’t intend to either.”

Why can’t the two invoices to repair for the fire department be taken from the fire dept. budget, since that dept. got such a big increase when they shut the police dept. down. Sheriff Brown shouldn’t have to pay for those repaires. Unless the high fire chief don’t have a clue what is wrong worth them or for that fact don’t know who to call to get them fixed! The town owes the Sheriff Dept. for this bill contract or no contract. They are the ones that caused this mess! Everyone remember ole les told channel 10 news that it would be cheaper to pay the sheriff than the police. Guess again ole les! This is actually a legitimate bill, not one fabricated up!

If the FA will not pay for the court reporter to type up the hearing, there will not be an appeal. The Mayor might not be able to pay the court reporter this time from the sewer repair account like he was able to last time.

The word is simple: vote! Get all white folks and blacks (I am certain there are a lot of them fed up with the CTIC) registered and, if need be, herd them to the polls on the next mayorial election. It is the only way that this crap will come to an end, and even then the CTIC and his toadies will probably continue to yell racism and file bullcrap law suits. there seems to be a lot more going on,yesterday i called public works to get them to come and blow my sewer out again.i was told they couldnt cause the tags on the trailer of the machine had been pulled so there was no tags on that machine so it could be used.im tired of my sewer backing up into my house im tired of runing my water hose through the towns sewer and runing up my water bill this isnt my job!! its a dam shame the town cant even fix there sewer problums or there streets the mayor looks out just for his freinds and to hell with the rest of the town so i guess the next thing i will be filing a law suit over this problum!!!!!!!!

It’s just sad to see that a large percentage of the people of Jonesboro are willing to give up such things as police protection, water purification, and mosquito spraying for the health and well being of themselves and their families just to get a certain individual or individuals elected to public office.

Thing is we don’t know if they are spraying for mosquitoes for a certain few like they were letting certain people not pay water bills for years. They probably weren’t paying taxes either.
Maybe the fiscal administrator can help us with mosquito spraying?

Dill is probably not qualified to be Town Clerk, judging from some of the public remarks he made about him and money, but he meets the main qualification for a job in the Thompson administration. He supports Leslie, right or wrong (mostly the latter).

Be interesting to see how long Dill stays as Town Clerk or any other position. It is up to the fiscal administrator now to fire any employee he does not judge to be qualified.
