DA made the correct call in dismissals
In response to Alison Bath’s piece, “ADAs say firing was political” (July 31), I am writing to express my support for the removal of Caddo Parish Assistant District Attorney Hugo Holland and Assistant District Attorney Lea Hall by District Attorney Charles Scott.
Louisiana’s inspector general found that Holland and Hall provided false information in an effort to procure assault weapons. The ethics and integrity of the DA’s office are serious concerns for all citizens. The very appearance of side-stepping the law calls into question these men’s capability to serve in a system of justice. Because as prosecutors they are responsible for the fair prosecution of citizens they must be held to the same standards that would be imposed on others.
