Why it Matters

An essay from Shreveport’s Elliott Stonecipher that has some relevancy to Jonesboro’s plight. Highly recommended reading.

LESSONS FROM THE MURDER OF JIM LESLIE

Community confidence is stripped away by widespread knowledge of unchecked public corruption. What is the incentive to work for the betterment of the community when the betterment sought, along with the community’s moral capital, are siphoned away by ever more open and obvious public corruption?

I am familiar with all the names Mr. Stonecipher mentions in his article. How sad things such as this happen to wonderful people. Thanks for sharing this with us.

This should make us stop and ponder the corruption on the State level as well as the corruption in the Town of Jonesboro. Will things ever change in LA? I doubt it. I have always heard our state has ALWAYS been politicially corrupt. Sad, indeed!
