A relative with a local business did not get word and failed to charge the new tax for a couple of days. He told me that lots of local businesses failed to notice the increase.

1. The tax rate was announced on the tax website.
2. People should keep their mailing address current so when documents go out, you are in the know.

Absolutely. After all, it’s the reason people work for a living in the private sector – so that their taxes are paid without fail, and government and its minions can be maintained in tall clover.
