Several print and radio ads were run in the days prior to last Saturday’s Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) $1.8 million tax hike election. The ads were paid for by Citizens for Better Law Enforcement PAC.

I appreciate some responsible people stepping up and putting their money behind their mouth. That is one thing that makes LIncoln Parish special – people willing to do the right thing.

True, most are responible for protecting their job or business interest. Vast majority of those contributing recieve funds from the money the tax generates, i.e., employee salaries or business relationships.

Half of those names either work for the Sheriff’s Department or are related to employees.

let’s see what people think of “Citizens for More Taxes to Build More Jail Space”, betcha they won’t like it nearly as much. If we’re gonna have four times the enforcement officers of other places, we gonna have more prisoners.

Imagine that: people will vote for a tax if they are getting the money. who would have thought of that? Just hire everyone and vote yourselves the entire parish.
