Jonesboro Cop Firing on Agenda Today

A recommendation by Town of Jonesboro Chief of Police Wesley Horton to fire Patrolman Hezekiah Perry for insubordination will be on the agenda at a special called meeting of the town’s Board of Aldermen.

Two weeks ago the issue was tabled until the town’s legal counsel could be present for the meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:00 PM at the W. Richard Zuber City Hall, 128 Allen Avenue.

So glad Attorney Stokes is available. He will advise Mayor Leslie about what to do….LeStevic and Devine listen to Attorney Stokes as well.

Attorney Stokes is smart….he can run the town and still makes lots of money as the attorney for many different agencies.

Wonder if Mr. Perry has found his diploma and drivers license yet to provide a copy of Chief Horton.

Devine, help Mr. Perry fill out that one form he needed more time ….he had months, then a verbal deadline of a week and then, finally, a written deadline of 1 day.

Poor Mr. Perry, he could not complete a form, provide a copy of his drivers license and high school diploma from the time he was hired in July until December.

So if he could not complete the necessary paperwork to keep his job, how you think he would do completing the paperwork necessary to be a good cop??????

Can you please find him a job on the force that requires no paperwork? Help out the man….

Heck, put him on at city hall, no one up there has to do anything, and if they do they don’t know how to do it right, so he should fit right in!

OMG why do they have to do it in a meeting? If he works for the Chief, why doesn’t he just fire him???

Technically, the mayor and alderman have authority over hiring and firing municipal employees. The chief (as an elected official) “makes recommendations” as to the individual in question; however, I do believe that the chief does have the final authority on placing the employees in his department on suspensive leave. He’s always got an ace in the hole, should the aldermen decide to stand upon their ignorance.

Does stupidity ever stop or is it like a cancer cell, it just keeps morphing into more stupidity every second? This has got to be the most ignorant thing yet and just when you think you have seen it all, yet another stupid act erupts like a festering boil.

What is stupid about the Leslie and his followers to try and help out Mr. Perry? They were able to get Mr. Perry the job….so, with their hiring power, I can understand how they thought they have the power to keep him on the job.

Maybe it was stupid for Chief Horton hire him in the first place.

Horton was doing a “favor” for someone to hire Mr. Perry.

I believe that if the favor had not been granted, this would have never come to pass.

Now, if Mr. Perry is fired, the folks playing the race card will deal this card (action) out to prove, once again, it is about race.

They will forget to say Mr. Perry could not or would not complete an application and hand in a copy of his drivers licenses and high school diploma.

HOW SIMPLE WAS THE REQUEST MADE BY THE CHIEF AND NOT FOLLOWED BY MR. PERRY????

HOW STUPID THAT THE MAYOR AND HIS CREW THINK THEY CAN DIRECT THE CHIEF’S DEPARTMENT????

I am believing Horton & Thompson are going to be on the same side at the meeting this afternoon.

    They need each other.

Not sure which side Mr. Perry is going to be on….I kinda believe Mr. Perry will have a job….a good job with the shifts he wants/needs to work.

Thompson, et al, will trump Horton!

First, how is it that you think the mayor and the Chief “need each other”? and for ” Horton & Thompson to be on the same side”, that right there shows you haven’t a clue!

How is it that you think “Horton & Thompson need each other”?,, and for you to say that ” Horton & Thompson will be on the same side”, shows you haven’t got a clue about what’s really going on! LOL

Sounds like Leslie & Wesley might have broken up….I do know they have been on the same side for years….Maybe Wesley has become exhausted.

So, you can take Leslie’s badge and lights away?

So, Mr. Perry still has a job I hear….
