Guideco Properties, LLC, a front company for Ruston businessman James Davison, is delinquent on 2009 property taxes in the amount of $56,893.47, plus interests and costs, according to a notice published in The Ouachita Citizen.
Guideco is the owner of the old GM Guide Plant, where V-Vehicle Company had planned to assemble automobiles.
Earlier this month, the company had a major shakeup in management after a Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing (ATVM) Program loan application was denied.
Almost all the money for engineering and design, building construction and manufacturing equipment was to have been funded via either state and local taxes, or the government backed loan.
The Ouachita Parish Police Jury had earlier this month voted to refund the local property tax levied that was to be given to the company.
LPNO has reported extensively on the controversial company and the Monroe project. Archived stories can be found here. We will continue to report on this ongoing story.
