Despite the best efforts of Lincoln Parish News Online, the commercial terms of the building lease deal between Guideco Properties, LLC and V-Vehicle Company remain secret. Guideco owns the land and building where the taxpayers of Louisiana are paying to more than double the size of the existing building.
Earlier this week, in response to a public records request, the Louisiana Economic Development Department said they did not have a copy of the lease agreement.
The request:
Additionally, we request copies of any documents or correspondence relating to the lease recently negotiated between Guideco Properties, LLC and V-Vehicle Company. This lease was negotiated on or about September 1, 2009. As the State of Louisiana (and its taxpayers) are the ultimate guarantor for this property, it is of public interest to know the potential exposure for the guarantee.
The response:
“Louisiana Economic Development does not possess the lease negotiated between Guideco Properties, LLC and the V-Vehicle Company.”
Last week we had reported that an executive of V-Vehicle refused to disclose the lease terms and an LED official said he did not know the terms.
Guideco is a front company owned by Ruston Businessman James Davison. Davison is not listed in SEC documents as an officer or director of V-Vehicle Company.
